Spiritual Encouragement:

“every believer was faithfully devoted to following the teachings of the apostles. Their hearts were mutually linked to one another, sharing communion and coming together regularly for prayer. A deep sense of holy awe swept over everyone, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. All the believers were in fellowship as on body, and they shared with one another whatever they had. Out of generosity they even sold their assets to distribute the proceeds to those who were in need among them. Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s home to celebrate communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility. They were continually lled with praises to God, enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were coming to life.”

Who We Are

Our Team & Leadership

The leadership of New Beginnings’ Church Blackall is a team of men and women volunteers who are passionate about the church, its vision and the Blackall community.

The board carry a diverse range of gifts including visionaries, business and administration, pastoral care, practical skills and a sense of destiny and calling. We are a team of ordinary people who believe God can accomplish extra-ordinary things.

Our church has been adopted by Twin Rivers Church Eagleby who give support, advice and a sounding board for ideas we maybe thinking through. They have also sent teams of men to help with the maintenance work on the church, but more than the physical work is the spiritual encouragement they bring.

Our Pastor: Bob Engwicht

Our Pastor: Bob Engwicht

Pastor

Pastor Bob Engwicht graduated from bible college in December 1974 and in 1975 pioneered a church in Narrabeen, Sydney’s north shore where they reached out to the young people in the local area. Troubled and hurting youth was a driving passion of his life.

After eight years he returned to his birth state Qld and began working with his wife Naomi with youth at risk, providing accommodation and a safe place as well as working with 150 plus “youth at risk” a week.

In 1993 they pioneered a church in Eagleby, Logan City a low-socio economic area with many youth challenges and a high population of single mums and housing commission houses. Now the Twin Rivers Church sits on 5 acres and a million-dollar center incorporating a church and care ministry that operates a food outlet, a café, a commercial kitchen preparing food for the homeless, traineeships and “work for the dole” (renamed “work for your destiny”) that aims to train and prepare unemployed with real work experience.

Pastor Bob’s passion has always been to improve and make the community a better place and in his words “I pastor a community not just a church”. He is a visionary that believes there is a creative solution for every problem.

His community work has seen him serve the community and business community in many roles including:

    • President of the Beenleigh Chamber of Commerce (our motto was Business and Community Succeeding Together)
    • Management committee of the Eagleby Community Centre
    • Community Capacity Builder for Qld Housing
    • Coordinator of Logan and Beaudesert Emergency Accommodation Network
    • Founder and Director of Vital Youth Contacts

I believe New Beginnings church can contribute to the well being and revitalization of the Blackall Community as we work with other churches and community organizations.
